Saturday, July 14: A free morning that was much appreciated, saw many of the Sisters traveling to the always colorful area around the Vatican. They visited the Basilica of St. Peter and the many shops there, finding that purchases with the Euro-exchange are more expensive.

When they reconvened in the afternoon, they met in small groups of their own languages to share their thoughts on monasticism. After these were presented in the large group, the discussion on proposals submitted continued.

Vespers that evening were celebrated by the Sisters together, rather than in their separate language groups. They gathered in the very beautiful Church of Santa Sofia, and the service was prayed and sung alternately in English, Ukrainian, Spanish, and Romanian.

After supper, Bishop Florantin Crihӑlmeanu, of Romania, presented and explained slides of his recent trip to Caesarea-Cappadocia, which the Sisters enjoyed. Sister Alphonsa, the General Superior, and Sister Seraphim Olsafsky, Provincial of the Uniontown Province, were also on the tour and were pictured on several slides.
