The Sisters of the Order of St. Basil the Great hold a meeting once every six years with all the Major Superiors of the Order.
This meeting of the Enlarged Council has met in several places, and this year, Slovakia was chosen as the site of the meeting.
This body serves in a consultative way to the General Council. Aspects of our lives as Basilian Sisters, our apostolates and any other concerns which may have been raised are discussed. One of the main tasks of the meeting was to plan for the 2013 General Chapter at which delegates from around the world will gather for the purpose of electing a new administration and to deal with any major issues which concern the entire Order.

It was unanimously agreed that the selection of Juskova Vol’a as the place for this meeting was the place that God intended that we meet. Both the beauty of the surroundings and the graciousness of the staff created an atmosphere conducive to achieving the goals set for the meeting. The services of the clergy at the center, their inspiring homilies, and the attentive concern of the staff for our well-being made us feel very much at home. It was agreed that if ever we needed to meet in Slovakia again, the Cirkevna Skola v prirode at Juskova Vol’a would be our first choice.
