The canonical visitation of the Sisters of the Province Jesus, Lover of Humanity in Fox Chase Manor, PA was conducted by Sister Dia Stasiuk, General Superior, February 7 – March 2, 2016. Sisters at the motherhouse had the opportunity to meet with Sister Dia individually. Sister traveled to Chicago, IL and Warren, MI to meet with those Sisters who are ministering in these Ukrainian Greek Catholic schools and parishes.
In Fox Chase Manor, St. Basil Academy, Manor College and the Basilian Spirituality Center were visited. Sister Dorothy Ann Busowski, Provincial, the Council, and the Sisters have entrusted the educational ministry in these Province sponsored institutions to Sr. Charlene M. Diorka, SSJ (Basilian Spirituality Center), St. Basil Academy and Manor College to dedicated lay persons, Ms. Gwenda Coté and Dr. Jonathan Peri, respectively. However, Sisters of the Jesus, Lover of Humanity Province are on the governing boards and in faculties of these Institutions.
The Ukrainian heritage and the Eastern Catholic legacy are important elements which the Sisters, through their presence and ministering with the lay partners, strive to embody in the missions of the sponsored institutions. Sister Dia and Sister Mariela Rotzen, General Councillor, returned to the Province in May to complete the visitation and to review financial investments.
The warm Basilian hospitality provided by Sister Dorothy Ann Busowski, Provincial Superior, the Sister Councillors, and all the Sisters made the visit of Sister Dia and Sister Mariela and pleasant and enjoyable.
