14 11 15 1Sister Lydia Anna Sawka, General Vicar, traveled to the United States of America in the late fall as delegated by Mother Dia Stasiuk to complete the canonical visitation of the Sacred Heart Monastery in Middletown, New York.

During the days of November 12 - 14, 2015, Sister Lydia Anna had the opportunity to spend time with the Nuns and participate in their daily actirivites. A small group, the Nuns spend most of their time in their primary ministry of prayer – praying the complete Daily Office and offering prayers for requested special intentions. They also help with catechesis in their local parish and provide opportunity for individual retreats and direction. One of their special ministries includes preparing myrrh/oil for the Ukrainian eparchies in the USA, which the bishops bless on Holy Thursday and distribute to all their parishes to use in celebration of the sacraments and the anointing of the faithful.
