On July 16, 2017 at the parish church in Reserva (Parana), Brazil, an extraordinary church event took place when Sister Maria Goretti Schitz, a member of the Sisters of the Order of St. Basil the Great, from the Delegature of Saint Macrina professed her Perpetual Vows in consecrated life.
Present at this event were four priests, nine Sisters from the Delegature and many parishioners. Her profession of the vows was accepted by Sister Maria Demetrio, Delegature Superior, and witnessed by Reverend Antonio Nazarko, OSBM.
During the Divine Liturgy Sister Maria Goretti solemnly professed to God that she promises to live the three vows of poverty, chastity and obedience as a Sister of the Order of St. Basil the Great to the end of her life. Following Divine Liturgy and various greetings and congratulations a festive repast was held.
We congratulate our dear Sister for this significant commitment in her monastic life. We pray for daily growth and deepening of her consecrated life and wish her deep peace and joy in her daily service of God’s people.
