February 1, 2016 - The celebration of the day of Consecrated Life in the UGCC was hosted this year by the Sister Catechists of Saint Anne. The gathering began in the Church of the Holy Martyrs Ss. Serhij and Baccha with the celebration of Great Vespers led by the Basilian Fathers. The main celebrant was Most Reverened Dionysio Lachovicz, who welcome all present on this special day.
After prayer Sr. Oresta Borshovska, SSMI gave a presentation regarding the founder of the Sisters Servants of Mary Immaculate, Reverend Jeremiah Lomnycky, OSBM. The evening concluded with the Sister Catechists of St. Anne hosting all the guests with delicious home-made refreshments. Everyone had an opportunity to share conversation with one another. The Basilian Sisters partaking in this event included Mother Dia Stasiuk, Sr. Lydia Anna Sawka, Sr. Nazariya Mykhaylyuk, Sr. Mahdalyna Vytvtyska, Sr. Anastasiya Stulkivska and Sr. Iryneya Filipovych. February 2, 2016 – The Year of Consecrated Life was brought to an official close by His Holiness Pope Francis with a Mass for the Feast of the Presentation of Our Lord in the Temple celebrated in St. Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City. Participating in the celebration were Sr. Lydia Sawka, Sr. Mariela Rotzen, Sr. Nazariya Mykhaylyuk, and Sr. Atanasia Anheluk.
