On November 14th we begin the fast of Philip, a time of forty days of preparation for the feasts of Nativity and Epiphany of Our Lord, Jesus. In Bethlehem’s cave is born Jesus, the Light of the World, who conquers the darkness of sin. The angels sing of His coming, the shepherds adore Him and the wise men bring Him gifts and pay Him homage.
Longing to continue serving God and His people in the community of the Sisters of the Order of St. Basil the Great in The Most Holy Trinity Province (Ukraine), on July 28, 2016, Sr. Havryila Sorochynska renewed her temporary vows for another year.
On October 2, 2016 in the Chruch of Blessed Priest-Martyr Pavlo Gojdych in Sidlusku, Prešov the Sisters of the Order of St. Basil marked a special occasion, which occurred in the presence of the Metropolitan Archbishop of Prešov, Most Reverend Ján Babjak, SJ.
October 1, 2016, the Feast of the Patronage of the Mother of God (following the Gregorian calendar) was a momentous day for the Basilian Sisters of the St. Basil and St. Macrina Vice-Province, for all Sisters in the Order of St. Basil, and for the entire Greek Catholic Church in Croatia.
On October 13, 2016 the Basilian Sisters at the Generalate hosted a group of priests from Argentina who came to Rome to be present at the proclamation of seven new saints, one of whom was their Argentinian priest Jose Gabriel del Rosario Brochera.
During the dates of September 15 to 21 in an Eparchial Center located in Lovran, Croatia the Sisters of the Order of Saint Basil the Great held their Enlarged Council. In accordance with the Constitutions of the Sisters of OSBM, the Enlarged Council is called by the General Superior and her Council half-way through thier term. Participants are the Provincials and Superiors of the Provinces, Vice-Provinces and Delegatures, along with the members of the General Administration.
