The official proclamation and beginning of the JUBILEE YEAR OF MERCY took place on December 8, 2015 in St. Peter’s Basilica, Vatican City, when His Holiness Pope Francis opened the Jubilee Doors of the Basilica and prayed before the XVII century Ukrainian icon of the Blessed Mother - Door of Mercy currently found in Yaroslava (Poland).
During the days of January 24 – 27, 2017 in their monastery in Gorlice, the Sisters of the Order of Saint Basil the Great from the Holy Cross Province in Poland held their Chapter of Elections. At the opening of the Chapter Heirarchal Divine Liturgy was celebrated and a pastoral homily offered by Metropolitan-Archbishop Eugene Popowicz, Metropolitan-Archbishop of Przemysl-Warszawa. A day of spiritual renewal was given by Reverend Mykola Kozitskyy, OSBM, Provincincial of the Basilian Fathers in Poland.
November 24 – December 3, 2015, Mother Dia Stasiuk, General Superior, and Sr. Emanuela Vavrekova, General Councillor, held Canonical Visitation of the Sisters in Poland. Mother Magdalena Szewczyk, Provinical Superior, accompanied them as they visited the convents in Warsaw, Gorlice, and Peremysl.

Sister Lydia Anna Sawka, General Vicar, traveled to the United States of America in the late fall as delegated by Mother Dia Stasiuk to complete the canonical visitation of the Sacred Heart Monastery in Middletown, New York.
