According to tradition, on the Feast of Saint Basil the Great, January 1, 2019, the Sisters from the Basilian Generalate were invited by the General Administration of the Basilian Fathers to celebrate this special day.

After a festive dinner with the Basilian Fathers, the Generalate of the Basilian Sisters was graced with the caroling of the Sisters Servants of Mary Immaculate, including their General Superior, Sister Sofia Lebedovich and their General Councilors. Sharing the joy of the Christmas season and the Basilian Feast day were Reverend Mark Semehen, head of the St. Sofia Religious Association in Rome and rector of the St. Sofia Basilica on Via Boccea, and his mother, along with Sisters Makariia Glyuzdyn, OSBM and Ilariya Ivanyuk, OSBM. After caroling in the monastery chapel, all present continued their celebratory get-together in the monastery refectory (dining room), enjoying special Christmas sweets.

Concluding the festivities, all fervently sang the hymn “O Vasylije Velykyj” (“O Basil the Great”).
