With joy in our souls, the Basilian Sisters from the Province of the "Immaculate Heart of Mary" celebrated on Sunday, July 19, 2020, the Monastery Feast of "Saint Macrina" in Cluj-Napoca.

The Divine Liturgy was celebrated by the Bishop Florentin Crihălmeanu, together with a group of fourteen priests and two deacons.

There were Basilian Sisters from all the communities of the Province, joined by Sisters from the Congregation of the Mother of God, Fathers and Brothers from the Order of Saint Basil and from the Jesuits Order, as well as many faithful.

Bishop Florentin delivered his sermon speaking about the spiritual teaching of the Sunday Gospel, the healing of the weak man in Capernaum. (Mt 9:1-8). He highlighted the image of God as a loving Father who suffers with the sinners and remains with us even when we sin, so that to receive His forgiveness and then to offer forgiveness ourselves.

His Holiness briefly presented the life of Saint Macrina, as model of life for the Basilian Sisters, a community life of "angels in flesh", a way of life appropriated by the Sisters who put themselves under the protection of Saint Macrina. Then he to specified some ways chosen by Sisters to spread the light of the Gospel, thus he remembered the apostolate that the Basilian Sisters carry out within the Church and, especially, within the Greek-Catholic Eparchy of Cluj-Gherla. He thanked the Sisters for their living presence in the life of the local Church and in their pastoral work.

We thank God through the intercession of St. Macrina, for this day of grace and blessing, of communion and joy.
