January 8, 2016 – The Sisters were invited to the home of the Fratelli Giuseppinni from Mexico, our neighbors across the street from the Generalate, for a social gathering and prayer in celebration of the Christmas season. Also attending were other communities from the neighborhood - the Franciscan Sisters, Daughters of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary (RC) and the Sisters Servants of Immaculate Mary from Poland (RC).
Representing our community were Sr. Lydia Anna Sawka, Sr. Nazariya Mykhaylyuk, Sr. Emanuela Vavrekova, and Sr. Atanasia Anheluk. These types of gatherings continue during the Year of Consecrated Life. It is an opportunity become acquainted with various religious communities from different cultures around the world, to share experiences and challenges of consecrated life, and to develop a sense of unity among those doing God’s work.
The pleasant afternoon included reflective prayer, a lively game of pinata, and delicious snacks.
