You know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance [have its perfect work] so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” (James 1, 3-4)

During the days of April 3-5, 2022 the Basilian Sisters of Saints Cyril and Methodius Vice-Province, Slovakia, Secovce held their Vice-Provincial Chapter. The theme was "And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love." (1Cor 13:13)

On March 18, Mother Marcela Runcan arrived in the United States from Rome for a ten-day visit.  Upon her arrival she was warmly welcomed by the Fox Chase community of Sisters of the Order of Saint Basil the Great. She immediately embarked on the main purpose of her visit, which was to oversee the smooth transition of the Basilian Sisters from Middletown, New York to Fox Chase. In addition to meeting with Mother Georgeann, Mother Bernadette and Mother Teresa, Mother Marcela also visited with Mother Marie Rita Zucchetto at St. Cabrini Nursing Home in Dobbs Ferry, New York.

On the morning of March 18, 2022,  the quiet street of Sant Alessio, where the Generalate of the Sisters of the Order of St. Basil the Great is located, was blocked by a convoy from the Dutch Foreign Ministry.  Mr. Wopke Hoekstra, who is the Dutch Foreign Minister, had decided unexpectantly to visit the sisters to personally hear about their vision of the current situation and about their service in Ukraine and abroad in connection with the war.

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the

Almighty. I will say of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust." (Ps 91:1)
