On Christmas Day, December 25, 2018 the Generalate filled with carols as nine Basilian Sisters from the Most Holy Trinity Province (Ukraine), ministering at the Saint Sofia Basilica in Rome, as well as, the students studying in Rome gathered to celebrate Christmas.

God sent us His Son, Who brings the light of salvation to a troubled world. Let us receive this blessed gift, joyfully proclaiming to one another:

Having been invited by Sr. Makariia Glyuzdyn, the Superior of the community of Basilian Sisters ministering at the Saint Sofia Basilica in Rome, the Sisters from the Generalate participated in a day of spiritual renewal in preparation for the Feast of Saint Basil the Great.

During the days of December 11-12, 2018 all the Sisters of the Province met for the Provincial Chapter, where they elected their new Provincial Administration:

At the Generalate on Monday, November 19, 2018 the Basilian Sisters of the Preparatory Committee began a working session, which lasted through November 23. Sisters arrived from all corners of the world.

In St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome on November 12, 2018 Bishop Dionisio Lachovicz, Apostolic Visitator for Ukrainian Catholics in Italy, celebrated a Hierarchal Divine Liturgy at the altar of Saint Basil the Great, which holds the uncorrupted remains of Priest-Martyr Saint Josaphat.

On Sunday, November 11, 2018, anticipating the Feast of the Priest-Martyr Saint Josaphat, the Basilian Sisters from the Generalate witnessed a very special event. Basilian Brother Pedro (Peter) Rinczeski from the Province in Argentina, currently a student at the St. John Lateran Pontifical University in Rome, professed Monastic Perpetual Vows during the Divine Liturgy.
